Sleep Relaxed. Get the most out of life.
Staying cool can help you fall asleep more quickly and makes you feel more refreshed when you wake. This is why a revolutionary new fabric called Cocona is having such an impact on the way we design mattresses; especially, the ones made with natural ingredients like Latex Rubber or Koosh Natural.
The secret behind Cocona's success is the unique pore structure within its yarn which increases the fabric's surface area by 8 times. This means that any moisture that comes in contact with the fabric spreads out further and quickly evaporates.
Cocona Natural Technology is a patented process that utilizes active micro porous particles from nature to enhance the performance of fabrics by providing exceptional evaporative cooling and thus creating a comfortable body temperature in any environment. It won the Interzum Award in 2011 for the Best New Intelligent Material & Design.
The [i] in iFoam stands intelligent foam. When you combine intelligent foam and a new intelligent material like Cocona, it is about as smart and as modern as it gets for modern mattress design. The Natural Cocona cover would also work well with our new iFoam Mattress. The Cocona cover is totally reversible. It is quilted on one side and made with a 3D spacer panel on the other side for maximum air flow.
Highly effective evaporative cooling
Cocona fabric is made utilizing a natural technology that incorporates activated carbon made from coconut husks - a natural and renewable resource. This activated carbon is infused and blended into other fibres to create performance fabrics. Activated carbon has been used for centuries to purify drinking water and to absorb toxins. When incorporated into yarns and fibres, it creates a fabric that provides highly effective evaporative cooling, odor control, and superior UV protection, up to 50+UPF (the highest possible rating). And since Cocona technology is inside the fibre, it cannot wash off or wear out like ordinary surface treatments to fabrics.
The 3D mesh air spacer is another new technology that is being used in mattress borders throughout Europe. This was originally used as a spacer behind perforated leather in car seats. It allows air to flow freely in and out of the sides of your mattress. It is used in combination with firm edges that have air vents for maximum air circulation.
In independent laboratory tests, measuring the amount of time a wet fabric takes to dry at room temperature, fabrics made with Cocona dried significantly faster than other leading moisture-wicking fabrics including polyester (50% faster), cotton (92% faster), and bamboo (96% faster).
Fabrics made with Cocona yarns and fibres are inherently lightweight, comfortable, and easy-care.
