    The best ideas happen in bed
    Have you ever asked someone at work what they thought about an idea and they responded with "I am not sure let me sleep on it and I will get back to you after lunch?"

    At FOAMITE it happens all the time. On the second floor of our building, located in Vaughan, above the lunchroom there is a relaxation room where employees are encouraged to take mid-day naps. At the entrance of the relaxation room there is a sign that reads "Please be quiet, hard working people resting their minds."
    Sleeping on the job is good for you
    According to a major survey conducted in Britain, the bed, not the workplace, is the best breeding ground for new ideas. Also if an employee is given the opportunity to close his eyes for a short period of time, this gives his brain a rest throughout the workday, and the time that it needs to process information properly and avoid stress creating situations.
    Rest your body. Clear your mind.
    We have altered our working habits and actually encourage people to take a mid-day power nap. "Napping is a natural, no-cost way to increase worker productivity," says Bob Dimas, President of FOAMITE. "Companies should no longer keep their eyes closed to the epidemic and inefficiencies caused by sleepiness on the job."
    For a daytime nap to be effective, workers need to be psychologically comfortable with snoozing;
    Employees make their own beds
    Their mattresses are ergonomically designed and they actually sleep on them after their lunch break. Workers enter a "sleep friendly" clean environment where no shoes are allowed. They slip under the covers, slip on their headsets, which feature sounds of the rainforest or calming ocean waves and enjoy a relaxing 20 minute nap. A chime wakes them once their time is up. After a quick facial spritz and a wipe

    Almost a third of the people polled by the East of England Development Agency claimed their brains go into creative overdrive in bed, according to a BBC report. The participants often commented on how their minds were most creative when they relax and take time away from everyday pressures.

    on the job and know that they are doing themselves and their company a favour, says Dimas. The introduction of beds in the relaxation room has helped workers feel like they have permission to rest, relax and recharge. Six weeks after implementing the relaxation room we found that productivity and quality have noticeably improved especially during the latter part of the work day.

    with a hot lemon-scented towel employees feel revived and ready to complete their day. Once you try it and get used to it you would be surprised as to how long 20 minutes actually is and how refreshed you feel afterwards, says Bob Dimas. This is different and somewhat enlightening but I truly believe that if you treat people right and do a little more for them in the long run it will pay off for everybody!
